Portuguese filmmaker, born in Angola, resides between New York and Lisbon. She studied Photography (Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, Lisbon), Cinema (School of the Art Institute of Chicago; Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television, Cuba; Downtown Community Television Center, New York), Journalism (graduated from the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa) and International Relations (master’s degree from City College of the City University of New York). Her first documentary, Cartas de Angola, is a portrayal of intimate memories of Cubans who fought in the war in Angola, and a reflexion on the fragile place of the individual in the face of the tectonic movements of History.
