Rita Barbosa (Porto, 1979), sometimes is a filmmaker, commercial director, visual artist, set designer, video artist. Degree in Digital Arts, Sound and Image at the School of Arts of Universidade Católica do Porto in 2002. Completed her training with workshops among which DOP Workshop in Rockport Maine Film and Media Workshops (2008). Her first short film “Friends After Dark” (2016), produced by the producer O Som e a Fúria, premiered internationally at the 69th Locarno Festival. She is currently producing and directing “Amigos Imaginários”, a film-performance, in collaborative process with Rui Lima, Sérgio Martins and Jonathan Saldanha. She has been an Advertising Director for Take It Easy since 2005 and has participated in several projects of Theatre, Film, Animation and Music. She was part of the selection committee of the 25th Curtas Vila do Conde Festival. Has worked in films and projects of Portuguese artists:João Nicolau, Susana Nobre, André Godinho, Luís Homem e Tiago Hespanha; Inês Oliveira; Tiago Guedes; Lígia Soares; Andresa Soares; Miguel Castro Caldas; Tiago Rodrigues; among others.
