Filipe Nunes Branco holds a degree in mechanics and a master’s in visual anthropology from the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (UNL). He has been dedicated to documentary and experimental cinema and his films have been presented in national and international festivals and exhibitions. He has developed his films independently and has been interested in the Alentejo region, south of Portugal. His film “Life out there has it been seen?” produced by Uma Pedra No Sapato, premiered at the Visions du Réel film festival in 2018 and won the best foreign film award at the Black Canvas Contemporary Film Festival in 2018. In recent years he has collaborated and participated in the collaborative film workshop MOVIMENTO. He has collaborated with the association Os Filhos de Lumière, organising and supporting film workshops with children and young people. Together with other partner, he is developing the cinema work program Descobre! for children, young people and seniors. In addition to his artistic and educational path, Filipe Nunes Branco collaborates with swissinfo.ch in Switzerland.
