Filmmaker, artist and professor, Gabriel Abrantes has had an extremely regular work as a film producer and director. With almost twenty short films produced and directed by him, his films are often premiered at the most important film festivals in the world, such as Cannes, Berlin, Locarno and Venice, in addition to having won several prizes (Golden Leopard at Locarno Film Festival and two EFA nominations at the Berlinale) and retrospectives dedicated to him (Lincoln Center – New York, BAFICI – Buenos Aires, among others). As an artist, Gabriel Abrantes has also developed regular work, exhibiting at renowned art galleries such as the Whitechapel Gallery (London), the Palais de Tokyo (Paris), the MIT List Visual Arts Center (Boston) and the Kunst-Werke (Berlin).
